Tuticorin has been a centre for maritime trade and pearl fishery for more than a century. The natural harbour with a rich hinterland, activated the development of the Port, initially with wooden piers and iron screw pile pier and connections to the railways. Tuticorin was declared as a minor anchorage port in 1868. Since then there have been various developments over the years.

Tuticorin became the citadel of the freedom struggle in the early 20th century. In 1906, one of the greatest freedom fighters of India, Mr. V.O. Chidambaram Pillai, launched the first swadeshi ship “S.S. Gaelia” in British India.DD


Applications are invited for the following posts from the candidates who are in possession of the following qualifications on contract basis. The details of vacant posts, monthly remuneration, qualifications, experience etc. are noted against each category

1. Resident Doctor (Full Time): 02 posts
Pay Scale: Rs.15,000/- p.m.
Qualification & Experience: MBBS (With some working experience is desirable)

2. Resident Doctor (Dental) (Full Time): 01 post
Pay Scale: Rs.15,000/- p.m.
Qualification & Experience: BDS (With some working experience is desirable)

3. Physiotherapist: 01 post
Pay Scale: Rs.7,500/- p.m.
Qualification & Experience: B.P.T with 5 to 7 years experience. Must be able to handle the unit efficiently & independently

4. Pharmacist-Post: 01 post
Pay Scale: Rs.7,500/- p.m.
Qualification & Experience: B.Pharma with 2 to 3 years experience in a hospital

5. Lab Technician: 01 post
Pay Scale: Rs.6,000/- p.m.
Qualification & Experience: B.Sc (L.T) with 2 or 3 years experience. Must be able to operate auto analyzer, cell counter etc.,
