Applications are invited from Indian citizens for filling up of 5 (five) posts of Project Scientists and Research Associates for engagement on Project Mode (contract) in the Seismology/Met Divisions of Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi, initially for a period of one year.

1. Particulars of the Post:

A. (i) Name of the Post: Project Scientists
(ii) Number of Vacancies: 03 (three)
(iii) Scale of Pay: Rs.38500/- (fixed)
Eligibility Criteria:
(i) Master’s Degree or equivalent in any branch of Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences/Physics/Geology/Geophysics/Mathematics from a recognized university with at least first class (60%) at Post Graduation level.
OR
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science from a recognized university with at least first class (60%) at Post Graduation level.

(ii) Experience of research in Meteorological/Geological sciences and related fields in research and Development survey administration, planning, supervision.
Desirable:

(i) Doctorate degree in Meteorology/ Atmospheric/ Oceanic Sciences/ Physics/ Seismology/ Geology/ Geophysics/ Mathematics degree from a recognized university/institution.


B. (i) Name of the Post: Research Associates
(ii) Number of Vacancies: 02 (two)
(iii) Scale of Pay: Rs.16000/- (fixed) per month plus HRA and
Medical allowances as applicable

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates having good academic record with Master’s Degree (M.Sc./M.Tech) in Geology, Geophysics, Physics or Computer Science from a recognized and reputed University/Institution. Ph.D in the relevant field or three years research/teaching experience in one of the areas. Candidates having knowledge in Geophysical instrumentation will be preferred.
