Inter University Accelerator Centre requires Scientists / Software Engineer / System
Administrator for DST project

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for the following contractual appointments for a period of three years under the DST-funded research project “Augmentation of Computing Resources for Simulation and Data Analysis at the Inter University Accelerator Centre” :

* Scientist B - 1 position (Rs. 22000 p.m.)
* Scientist C - 1 position (Rs. 27000 p.m.)
* Scientist D - 2 positions (Rs. 32000 p.m.)
* Software Engineer/System Administrator - 2 positions (Rs. 27000 p.m.)

Qualifications and experience :

Essential : For positions 1-3 (Scientist) : Ph.D. in Science, in the fields of nuclear physics / materials science / atomic and molecular physics / radiation biology. In addition, candidates for position 2 (Scientist C) should have a minimum of two years and candidates for position 3 (Scientist D) should have a minimum of four years of post-doctoral research experience. All positions require working knowledge of Unix / Linux, experience in Fortran / C / C++ programming and familiarity with the use of standard codes in the candidates area of specialization.

For position 4 (Software Engineer / System Administrator) : B. Tech / MCA / M.Sc. in a relevant discipline with a minimum two years of experience in software development or system administration, or M.Tech in a relevant discipline. Positions require hands-on experience of UNIX / Linux system administration, shell scripts, C / C++ programming and networks, switching and toung.

Desirable : For all positions, exposure to parallel distributed and shared memory computing using MPI and Open MP is desirable. For scientist positions, exposure to installation optimization and problem diagnosis of standard parallel computing applications would be an advantage. For candidates for system administrator / software engineer positions. Working knowledge of web-based interface design and SNMP programming would be useful, as would be an exposure to high speed networking systems.
