Eligibility Conditions:
o Age : 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 01.01.2011
o Qualification : For Indian Economic Service : Postgraduate degree in Economics / Applied Economics / Business Economics / Econometrics . For Indian Statistical Service : Post-Graduate degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics from a University
o Physical Standards : Must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Economic Service/

UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC)

INDIAN ECONOMIC SERVICE (IES)/ INDIAN STATISTICAL SERVICE (ISS) EXAMINATION , 2010

The Union Public Service commission will hold the Indian Economic Service (IES)/ Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination commencing from 04th December 2010 for recruitment to Grade IV of the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS). The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

Conditions of Eligibility

(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

* Age Limit : Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st January, 2010. Relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

* A candidate for the Indian Economic Service (IES) must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economis/ Business Economics/ Econometrics and candidate for the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics from a recognised University.

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Servicce Examination, 2010 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Ooffices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-

Fee : Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.

Address and Last date for Receipt of Applications: All applicants must reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service commission, Dholpur house, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi - 110069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post only or by courier, on or before 05/07/2010. For candidates of far-flung areas and abroad the last date is 12th July, 2010.
