Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Limited, a public sector undertaking of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, totally dedicated to coastal movement of coal on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for its Thermal Power Stations through a fleet of its own and chartered vessels and with a turnover of around Rs. 500.00 crores per annum requires candidates for the following posts:

General Manager (Operations)

* No.of Vacancies : 01 Post
* Pay Scale : Rs. 37400-67000+8900 + allowances as per rules.
* Age/ Community: 45 years (relaxable)/ Open Competition-non-priority.
* Place of Duty: Head Office, Chennai.

Qualification:

1. Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship issued by Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India.
2. Ten years experience out of which five years of command of large size GC?BC vessels.
3. About five years experience in Commercial Chartering Department in a ship-owing company and familiar with chartering negotiation, checking disbursement accounts, preparing voyage estimates, matters of arbitration with charterers; insurance claims etc. and
4. Should have thorough knowledge of Mercantile Marine Operations, Management and Control of Floating Crew; statutory requirements; International Marine conventions, chartering operations and Ship Management.

Deputy General manager (Technical)

* No.of Vacancies : 01 Post
* Pay Scale : Rs. 37400-67000+8900 + allowances as per rules.
* Age/ Community: 45 years (Relxable) / Open Competition-non-priority.
* Place of Duty: Head Office, Chennai.

Qualification:

1. MOT First Class Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency issued by the Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India and
2. Minimum 10 years of experience of which at least 5 years as Chief Engineer in a Foreign Going Vessel, and thorough knowledge of Ship repair, maintenance, dry dock repairs etc.

Assistant General Manager (Operations)

* No.of Vacancies : 01 Post
* Pay Scale : Rs. 15600-39100 + 7600 + allowances as per rules.
* Age/ Community: 45 years (Relaxable) / Open Competition-non-priority.
* Place of Duty: Head Office,. Chennai.

Qualification:

1. Foreign Going Master Certificate of the Competency issued by Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India.
2. Minimum 5 years Merchant Navy Experience and
3. Fully conversant with Merchant Shipping Act provisions of International Marine Convention, Crew Recruitment and Ship Board Management.
