Safety officer, Posts :12
Pay Band – 9300-34800 Grad Pay. Rs.4200/-
Qualification :
(i) Should not be more than 30 years of age. Provided that the age limit may be relaxed by 5 years
in favour of a candidate who is in service of the Gujarat Maritime Board/Government of Gujarat, in
accordance with the provisions of Gujarat Civil Services Classification & Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 as amended from time to time.
(ii) Candidate selected as engineer trainees and have successfully completed probation in the field of
safety.
OR
Possess a diploma in any branch of Engineering /Technology or a BSc degree in Physics or Chemistry
and has a practical experience of working in any factories in a supervisory capacity for a period of not
less than three years

Pay Band - 15600-39100 Grade Pay - 7600
Age : Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years
Education Qualification:
(a) First Class Engineer's Certificate of Competency (Steam and Motor)
OR
(b) M.Sc. Degree in maritime Affairs or its equivalent degree awarded by a recognized university including World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. (c) Extra First Class Engineers certificate of Competency
Required Experience :
a. 8 years of service at sea of which one year must have been as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
OR
b. 10 years service as Engineer Officer of which one year must have been in the capacity of Chief
Engineer on a foreign going ship.
OR
c. 6 years service at sea of which one year must have been as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer
