Canara Bank Clerical Exam 2010: Notification, Eligibility & Forms

Canara Bank has just today issued recruitment notification for 1000 Probationary Clerical positions - you can apply for these positions from 25th March till 24th April 2010. But first a small synopsis on what is Canara Bank:
Established in July 1906, Canara Bank is one of the oldest bank in India and one of the largest public sector banks in India. It has a country-wide network of 2802 branches, 2084 of which offers 'Anywhere Banking' services and 1591 of which provides Internet and Mobile Banking (IMB) services. It also has one of the largest ATM network among public sector banks with over 2000 ATMs.

Canara Bank Clerical Vacancy positions:


There are a total of 1000 Clerical vacancies with the category-wise break-up as below:
SC:154, ST:69, OBC:226, UR:551.

State-wise break-up of Canara Bank Clerical Vacancy positions are as given at right. This is important as you would need to apply against only a particular state and should have studied the local language of that state either at SSLC /SSC or 10+2 or Graduation level.

Canara Bank is offering salary in the pay-scale (likely to be revised) of Rs.4410-215/3-5055-335/3-6060-470/4-7940-500/3-9440-560/4-11680-970/1-12650-560/1-13210.

Canara Bank Clerical Recruitment Important Dates:
Start date of online registration: 25.03.2010
Last date of online registration: 24.04.2010.
Date of download of duplicate call letter:13.07.2010 to 18.07.2010.
Date of Canara Bank Clerical Written exam: 18.07.2010.


Canara Bank Clerical Eligibilities:
Age Eligibility : (as on 01.01.2010 )
Minimum: 18 Years, Maximum: 28 Years.

Educational Qualification Eligibility :
Min. 60% in Class-XII (55% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) OR a pass in Graduation.
You should have studied the local language of that state for which you are applying either at SSLC /SSC or 10+2 or Graduation level.

Apart from this, you must also posses following knowledge/competency:

COMPUTER LITERACY: Operating computer systems in MS-DOS, MS Windows, Basic concepts of Networking & Connectivity, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail etc.] shall be an essential qualification, which you must either possess or acquire within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.

HINDI KNOWLEDGE: You also should acquire working knowledge of Hindi, if not possessed already, before completion of probationary period.


Canara Bank Clerical 2010 Online Form:
You can apply for the Clerical Recruitment only by online registration in between the dates given above. There is no offline application form.

But before you go on to apply online for exam, you should have following two ready:
a) A valid email ID.
b) You should have paid the Clerical application fee (Rs. 200/- for General/OBC/Ex-Servicemen candidates and Rs. 50/- for SC/ST& PWD candidates).
Why do you need these even before applying online? Because you have to fill these details in the Clerical online form.

How to pay Canara Bank application fee:


You can pay the fee through any Canara Bank branch . You can also deposit the requisite fee in any other Bank through NEFT, but keep the details of payment made.
First download this ‘FEES PAYMENT CHALLAN’.
As you can see it has two parts - branch copy & candidate copy. After payment of the fee, keep the candidate copy properly - you need to produce this along with your call-letter to the invigilator of the Written Test center.

After submitting the Canara Bank Clerical Online Form, you do not need to send the print copy of your application form to Canara Bank. But however, take print out of the same as you may need it for the written test or for requesting duplicate call letter.

Canara Bank Clerical Written test call letter:
You should get your call letter for the Canara Bank Clerical written exam by ordinary post. But if you do not receive the same by post, just download the duplicate call letter of Canara Bank Clerical exam from the website in between 13.07.2010 to 18.07.2010.
